07/10/06 : The venue for the competition was finalised and we can now confirm that the Tournament will be played at the Marsa Sports and Country Club, which is the most prestigious sports club on the island!

Accomodation

Accomodation has already been booked on a Bed & Breakfast (B&B) basis at the Hotel Valentina in Schreiber Street, Paceville (www.hotelvalentina.com).
The twelve (12) tournament participants will be hosted at the Hotel Valentina for two nights free of charge on a B&B basis (being Friday 17 and Saturday 18 November) with the compliments of the Malta Table Football Sports Association.
There will be a table football pitch at the hotel for the exclusive use of the participants.
Six officials of the tournament, including the Head Referees and the Tournament Manager, will also be accomodated at the Hotel Valentina.
Any other accomodation required is to be booked directly with the hotel quoting reference “FISTF WORLD MASTERS” or “MTFSA” at the special rate of MTL 8 / EUR 19 per person per night on a Bed & Breakfast basis.
The Hotel Valentina is in the heart of the entertainment hub and just minutes away from the national casino, public beaches, night clubs and restaurants, yet situated in a quiet residential area.
The Hotel has a luxuriously furnished, air-conditioned lobby and staff who are willing to help you with exchange of money, car hire and excursions. Amenities in every room include air-conditioning and ceiling fans, mini bar, multi lingual television and direct dialling facilities. Maid service is available every morning. Breakfast is a varied continental buffet and all residents wishing to have lunch or dinner may go to the Hotel’s restaurant, "The Avenue", which is situated a street away and all residents will receive a discount. Internet access is available throughout the hotel.

The World Masters - Malta 2006 is being played at the Marsa Sports and Country Club. The (www.marsasportsclub.com) is a private Club tucked away amongst the quiet shrubbery of the greenest parts of the Island of Malta.

T he various sport sections include an 18-hole golf course, nineteen tennis courts, five squash courts, cricket pitch, two full sized billiard tables and a large open-air swimming pool. Another section within the Club is the Polo Club, which is reputed to be the first polo club in the western hemisphere, whilst the golf club was founded in 1888. The United Services Sports Club, as it was then known, was inaugurated on 15th August 1901 to provide a permanent home for the Polo and Golf clubs and to serve as a recreational centre for the British Forces then stationed on the island.

The club became civilian in 1971 and numerous changes have been made since then, perhaps the most significant of which was the grassing of the golf course. The club now provides facilities for no less than eight sports disciplines and boasts of a membership nearing 4000; the majority of who are Maltese citizens but including also a large number of expatriate members who have made Malta their home or are working here. The Club also welcomes several thousand visitors per year.

The Clubhouse has an air-conditioned bar and a restaurant. It is a family Club and is open everyday from 8:00am to 10:30pm. Facilities exist for daily and weekly temporary membership for visitors wishing to relax in a friendly, informal atmosphere during their stay in Malta
